Cheat
Also known as cheat the look, cheat the position, cheat to camera.
To adjust a performer, eyeline, prop, set piece, or camera position away from literal spatial truth so it reads better in the frame.
In practice
Cheating is ordinary screen construction: small changes can improve composition, continuity, visibility, and editorial matching. The director and relevant departments should communicate the adjustment so action remains repeatable and safe.
