Spotting session

Also known as music spotting, sound spotting.

A review in which filmmakers decide where music, effects, dialogue work, or other sound cues should begin and end.

In practice

Participants record purpose, timing, transitions, source status, responsibilities, and creative notes, producing a cue plan for the relevant post departments.
