Also known as dialogue pre-dub, DX premix.
A premixing stage that edits, cleans, balances, and processes production dialogue and ADR before final mixing.
In practice
The mixer manages intelligibility, perspective, noise, room tone, alternates, and transitions while keeping enough separation for later creative and delivery changes.
