Clear the lens

Also known as clear frame, clear camera.

A set instruction for crew, equipment, or unplanned movement to leave the camera’s field of view.

In practice

The call protects the frame immediately before or during a setup. It should not override a person’s safe path; camera and assistant-director teams coordinate where people can wait or cross.
