Computer-generated imagery
Also known as CGI, CG, computer graphics.
Imagery created or substantially manipulated with computer graphics for integration into a shot, sequence, or complete animated work.
In practice
CGI can include modeled objects, characters, environments, simulations, matte elements, and rendered lighting. It is broader than one visual-effects technique and still requires planned camera, color, editorial, and delivery handoffs.
