Butterfly frame
Also known as overhead frame, butterfly, rag frame.
A large collapsible frame used to hold a fabric modifier over or beside a subject.
In practice
Common frame sizes carry silks, grids, nets, solids, bounce, or other rags to diffuse, subtract, or redirect light. Wind turns the surface into a sail, so stands, tie-downs, crew, ballast, and weather limits must be planned together.
