Answer print
Also known as first answer print.
The first release-form laboratory print combining approved picture and sound that is presented to the producer for acceptance.
In practice
The answer print is evaluated for timing, density, color, synchronization, and printing defects before release-print orders proceed. It belongs to photochemical finishing and should not be treated as a synonym for a modern digital master.
