Unit Director
Also known as Additional Unit Director.
A Unit Director directs an assigned production unit or defined body of material under the project’s principal creative direction. They lead performers and crew for that work, plan coverage, coordinate safety and logistics with the AD team, and deliver footage that matches the story, performances, continuity, and visual language of the main production.
The assignment may involve a parallel shooting unit, specialty sequences, inserts, location material, or another defined block, and its authority should be distinguished from the principal Director and Second Unit Director credits.
