Makeup Artist
Also known as MUA, Film Makeup Artist.
A film Makeup Artist applies and maintains approved beauty, corrective, period, character, injury, aging, body, and continuity makeup for performers. They prepare skin, use sanitary tools and products, document each look, make discreet on-set touch-ups, and remove products safely at wrap.
Screen makeup must support character and survive close cameras, lighting, movement, weather, costumes, meals, tears, sweat, and repeated takes.
The artist works in close physical proximity to performers and must protect consent, hygiene, allergies, privacy, comfort, and time.
