Locked script
Also known as number-locked script.
A production script whose scene numbering is frozen so later revisions do not renumber existing scenes.
In practice
New scenes are commonly assigned lettered numbers and deleted scenes remain accounted for, protecting breakdowns, schedules, reports, and editorial references.
