Lens blow
Also known as blow job (dated camera slang), blow the lens.
Cleaning a lens or optical surface with approved air before using a suitable brush or cloth when needed.
In practice
Use only tools and methods approved for the optical surface; canned propellant, moisture, and abrasive debris can damage coatings. A crude historical nickname sometimes heard for this task should not be used as a professional instruction.
Usage note
The vulgar alias is included only for lookup and is dated, exclusionary workplace language.
