Focus Puller
Also known as Focus Operator, Focus Technician.
A Focus Puller keeps the intended subject sharp while performers and cameras move. They judge distance, lens behavior, depth of field, marks, timing, and storytelling priority, then operate a follow-focus system during the take—usually as part of the First Assistant Camera’s broader camera-technical responsibilities.
On many productions Focus Puller and First Assistant Camera describe the same person. The separate title emphasizes the live focus craft and is more common in some regions or crew structures.
