DMX Technician
Also known as DMX Tech, Lighting Control Technician.
A DMX Technician installs, addresses, tests, and troubleshoots the data infrastructure that controls production lighting. They manage cable, nodes, wireless links, universes, network paths, fixture modes, and labels so the Lighting Programmer can communicate reliably with every controlled device.
DMX is one part of a larger control chain that may include Ethernet protocols, wireless systems, consoles, dimmers, practical controllers, and pixel devices.
Reliable control depends on disciplined addressing, termination, network configuration, documentation, backups, and physical cable protection.
Pre-production responsibilities
- Build addressing, cable, network, node, wireless, and test plans.

- Maintain stable control and respond quickly to fixture or signal failures.
