Cast Costumer
Also known as Talent Costumer, Principal Cast Costumer.
A Cast Costumer is assigned to one or more principal performers and manages their fittings, daily wardrobe, dressing, changes, continuity, comfort, maintenance, repairs, laundry, and communication. They provide a trusted, discreet link between the performer and the costume department.
The assignment may follow a performer through prep, travel, rehearsals, set, special events, and reshoots.
Trust matters because the Costumer works around private dressing, body measurements, personal preferences, confidential story information, and high-value garments.
Pre-production responsibilities
- Support fittings, measurements, alterations, rehearsals, and performer wardrobe organization.
Production responsibilities
- Dress and maintain assigned cast through calls, changes, takes, and wrap.
Post-production responsibilities
- Clean, inventory, archive, return, or preserve assigned costumes.
