Box rental

Also known as kit rental, tool allowance, kit fee.

An agreed allowance paid when a crew member supplies personally owned tools or equipment required for production work.

In practice

The covered inventory, rate, loss or damage terms, insurance, replacement responsibility, and tax treatment should be documented. The name survives from toolboxes but can cover a broader kit.
