Assistant Production Manager

Also known as APM, Assistant PM.

An Assistant Production Manager supports the Production Manager with schedules, crew and vendor logistics, orders, locations, travel, transportation, facilities, approvals, and daily problem solving. They own delegated operational work while keeping decisions, costs, and changes visible to production leadership.

The APM is a bridge between management plans and detailed execution. Assignments may be divided by unit, location, vendor group, travel, or production phase.

The role carries more decision-making and accountability than a coordination position but works within the Production Manager’s authority.
