Assistant Costume Designer
Also known as ACD, Assistant Wardrobe Designer.
An Assistant Costume Designer extends the Costume Designer’s creative work across research, character boards, sourcing, fittings, fabric, custom builds, background, scheduling, communication, and approvals. They may own assigned characters or units while keeping every decision aligned with the Designer’s overall concept.
The ACD combines design judgment with coordination and is essential on productions too large for one Designer to attend every fitting, vendor, build, and set need.
The role may focus on principal cast, background, specialty costumes, illustration, shopping, or a separate unit.

- Research, source, schedule, fit, and supervise assigned costume work.
